Studio Art

Being a reluctant sleeper and an even-less-prolific dreamer, the world of the surreal–a place made from the strangest dreams–seems like an odd place for me. However, it is this world of visions and fantasy that I eagerly waded into after wandering into a gallery of work by the surrealist, Vladimir Kush. Ever since that night on Maui, I have been fascinated by the vivid but barely comprehensible glimpses of other realities created in dreams. My artwork strives to capture the imagination and realism found in that which we can barely even describe. While my first love was always surrealism, education has prompted me to explore other styles and appreciate each historical movement for its contributions. My work is not just an expression of dreams; it is an extension of myself. Therefore, like me, it is a fusion of all the things I have learned and experienced. My training has taught me classical methods and skills, but my heart was drawn to the most modern methods of creating art: the digital mediums.
